When it comes to achieving flawless makeup, a good foundation is good but the technique in which it is applied matters a lot. First of all, make sure your foundation is being applied on a CLEAN skin and it is advisable to warm up liquid foundations at the back of your palm before applying them on your face. Foundations are to be applied in tapping motions not dragging motion (if that makes any sense, LOL) There are different types of foundations, however am going to talk about the three most popularly used.
Liquid or cream foundation: These comes in liquid form. They can go for either full or medium coverage depending on how much you apply. Cream foundations are a little heavier than liquid ones therefore they are suitable for people with normal or dry skin .
Stick foundation; Stick foundations tends to be heavier making it suitable for covering blemishes scars, reddened areas and under eye circles. It is better to use stick foundations only on problem areas rather than on the whole face.
Powder or compact foundation; This is simply a combination of powder and foundation in one.
Just as there are different types of foundations, so also there are different tools for applying them, you have foundation brushes, beauty blenders, foundation sponge and of course your hands. It depends on what you prefer to use but please don't forget to blend properly. Blending in your foundation properly is the most important as this can either make or mar your whole makeup.
